A Representative hopeful of Margibi County District #1 over the weekend visited several communities as part of this campaign tour, just a month to the presidential and legislative elections in Liberia.
During his visit to the District, he outlined several things that the people of Margibi have benefited from The Jomah B. Samuels Care Foundation says he’s the best candidate Margibians can count on in this October 10 elections.
Speaking at the induction ceremony in Cannanland Community, Lower Margibi County, District 1 Representative hopeful Jomah B. Samuels informed some residents that his foundation was founded in 2019 mainly to empower the people of Margibi County through Agriculture; according to him, he has empowered over 18,000 villages ranging from Kakata to other parts of the county.
He is running against a number of other contenders who have made similar promises to bring development to the local people and are claiming to be the best.
“The Jomah B. Samuels Care Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 2019 when I was in the U.S. and the intent of that was to empower Margibians. I’m the best candidate in District 1, Margibians, you can count on me for better development. So through our non-profit, we were able to empower the people in the Mabam Kaba area through Agriculture because we believe that for people to be independent, they should fish for themselves instead of giving people rice and handouts, We created that foundation, We able to empower 18,000 villages in Margibi County. We donated seeds and tools and we even did brushing for local farmers; that’s the way to empower people”, the representative hopeful informed some residents of Cannanland Community.
“We venture into a vocational skill training program, today we have our vocational skill training program in Division 6, Camp A, B, and C, 3000 women across Margibi County in the area of vocational skill training program. The training included soap making, pastry, and catering. And we also worked with four schools in the Duazohn area. Faith University in Schefflin Town, Army Wife Association at the EBK Barrack, and other schools. We were able to empower 50 girls in those schools,” the representative candidate of District 1, Margibi County added.
According to him, it is his strength to empower women across Margibi County and Liberia at large. He asserted that since he traveled to the United States of America, he has been lobbying for support for Liberian women to help alleviate poverty and empower them through this training that will enable them to be versatile in the area of soap making, pastries, and others.
“I can stand here and proudly say that through our initiatives, 55 Liberians and not just Margibians will be going to the U.S. to work and stay on a green card program. And that was initiated by Jomah B. Samuels when I went to the U.S. to the Wood Services Company. We do not need elections to help our people, we do not need elections to come to our people. We believe in human resource capacity building; that’s our strength”, he asserted.
“We didn’t stop there, we went to Division 16. The people have nowhere to stand during the rainy season; we constructed a bus stop and solar energy light where I live. So let us come together and support those who have a vision for this country, not just about jobs. I’m a candidate in this race, in Margibi County, and am running as an independent candidate. We have the vision to transform the lives of our people, Go out there, our names are household names in Firestone. We have been in this business since we were born. When the Covid in Liberia, I supplied Covid prevention materials to almost all the Schools in Margibi County including BWI, St. Augustine, and LAMCO Lipid High, and I also did that to C.H. Rennie Hospital to empower the staff with 65 bags of rice,” Mr. Samuels stated.
At the same time, the representative hopeful encouraged Margibians to be peaceful and exercise their constitutional rights in this ensuing October 10 elections to avoid chaos. He added that the inducted leaders should serve their people and break their egos.
“If you want to succeed as a leader, you need to come down to your people. My people, for this man to succeed, you have to give him your support, just as you stood in line and elected him, also be willing to give your support at all times, give him the needed support so that together we can transform Cannanland Community,” he maintained.
