The Campaigners for Academic Crimes Court in Liberia (CACC), headed by popular political activist Marting K.N. Kolle, has strongly criticized the Liberian Senate for confirming Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti as Foreign Minister, describing the move as “a strategic misstate”.
On February 8, 2024, the Senate confirmed Madam Nyanti, a former United Nations official, despite a CACC report alleging that the then nominee had fake academic degrees.
Prior to her confirmation hearing by the Senate, Sara Beysolow Nyanti promised to defend her academic credentials which she challenged were not fake.
But reports from the Capitol Building said that during her second appearance before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Madam Nyanti did not clearly state whether or not she earned an undergraduate degree prior to pursuing and obtaining her Masters abroad.

According to the local Frontpage Africa Reporter covering the story, “Senators also felt short to directly inquire about her credentials during the hearing, though it has been a subject of concern and discussion in the public”.
But in a press release, the anti-Academic fraud pressure group said:
“The Campaigners for Academic Crimes Court in Liberia (CACC), a legally registered pro-academic advocacy organization, frowns on the stage-managed confirmation hearing of Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti whose academic online credentials are fake and fraudulent.”
The group has vowed to continue its “war against academic crimes continues amidst a general assault on education by the political class in Liberia.”
It has taken aim at the Liberian Senate for going ahead with her confirmation despite “credible reports and legitimate concerns”, something CACC claims, “brings her credibility and integrity into question”.
From the look of things, the Senate seems bent on confirming a Foreign Minister with fake degrees. Without investigating credible reports and legitimate concerns about Madam Sara Beyslow Nyanti’s questionable academic credentials which brings her credibility and integrity into question”.
In an apparent sign of frustration that Liberian Senators virtually ignored his group’s report giving it little consideration, Mr. Martin Kollie has decided to pause his campaign with the confirmation of the new Foreign Minister.
In his Facebook post, he says: “I will take a break now and return anytime soon.”
