Hundreds of Contract workers on the LAC rubber Plantation in Grand Bassa County have petitioned the Wee-Statutory District Representative Vicent Willie to re-contest the district seat.

The contractors at a laborite petitioning ceremony held at the LAC Sports Pitch on Sunday, January 9, 2022 said their decision is based on Rep. Willie’s tremendously and significant development contributions to the constituency in the face of mounting difficulties.

The Contractor, who make up nearly 80% of the company’s workforce, named the provision of local and international scholarships, advocacy for a nonrefundable vacation allowance for unionized workers, and the construction of the Newcess Bridge.

According to them, their Representative has been able to establish Adult Literacy School, construct bridges, farm-to-market roads, and he has made himself accessible to them at all times.

Mosses Sumo, the General Overseer of Division 1.1 who read the petition statement described Willie’s achievements as remarkable and the first of its kind in the Wee-District.

Said Sumo: “Recounting your development contributions to his constituent district ranging from the following but not limited to Providing international scholarships and training programs for sons and daughters of our district, Advocacy for a nonrefundable $25 USD as vacation allowance for LAC unionized workers which has never been in the history of the company.”
