The annual summit of the Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus has ended in Monrovia, with the signing of an agreement with Center for National Document and Archives for the construction of a ten-story building for the establishment of the Liberia Pan African Library.
The Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus is an organization recognized by the African Union representing the hundreds of millions black people in the Diaspora in the United States , Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Spain France and other parts of the world outside the African Continent.
The agreement was signed by Emmanuel Lomax , the Director General of the Center for National Document, Record and Archives on behalf of the his entity and ; and Dr. David Horne, the Executive Director of the Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus, signed on behalf of the black people in the Diaspora.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Director General of the Center for National Document, Records and Archives, Emmanuel Lomax , said with the approval of the land deeds is an indication that President George Weah is serious about the project aimed at giving resources for research and other knowledgeable undertaking in the country.
Mr. Lomax thanked Madam Louise Siaweh, the Chief Executive Officer of the Siaweh Liberia Incorporated for linking the Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus for the construction of a giant library in Liberia.
The Director General of the Center for National Documents, Records and Archive also thanked the 6th Regional Diaspora Caucus for selecting Liberia as its site for the construction of its first project on the African Continent
For his part, the Executive Director of the Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus, David Horne, said following the completion of the building, 30 youths will be selected and sent to the United States for training purposely to manage the Library.
According to him, the fund for the construction and establishment of this library will be generated from black people in the Diaspora. .
He expressed optimism that the construction of the building that will host the library will start early next year.
In remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of the Siaweh Liberia Incorporated , Louise Siaweh, said it is her greatest wish to ensure that the Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus begin its project on the African Continent in Liberia,
She requested for the Center for National Documents, Records and Archive to assist to host her office so as to work closely in making the project a reality
The Sixth Regional Diaspora Caucus is the organization representing the black race at the African Union and was established as a region of the AU in 2006
