Bong Co. Attorney Blames Citizens’ Refusal To Heed Health Protocols For Rise In COVID-19 Cases

GBARNGA, Liberia-Bong County’s Resident County Attorney, Johnathan N. Flomo has attributed the increase of COVID-19 cases in the County to the refusal of citizens and residents to adhere to health protocols.

Three persons have so far died from Coronavirus in this central Liberian county, 103 miles east of Monrovia.

Speaking in an interview with www.newspublictrust.com on Wednesday June 17, 2020 in Gbarnga, Attorney Flomo said many citizens are no longer sticking to health guidelines.

He said citizens are now gathering in huge numbers in public areas, adding that they are not wearing mask, not washing their hands and practicing physical distancing.

Atty. Flomo said it is crucial that citizens adhere to the restrictions that remain in place and continue to take basic precautions to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

He want citizens stop the denial, the coronavirus is real, adding “Everyone please take care of yourself in order to save yourself.

Atty. Flomo believes that these different precautions measures is citizens best defense against the coronavirus and are necessary to saving lives.

He encouraged citizens to play their part in the fight against the COVID-19.

“In order to protect yourself and others, you should wear a mask when in public so that it covers your mouth and nose, wash your hands frequently with soap or sanitizers, and don’t sit or stand too close to one another,” the Bong County Attorney stated.
