VOINJAMA, Liberia- The dispute over the outcome of the October 10, 2023 Senatorial election in Lofa County, despite the declaration of winner by the National Elections Commission (NEC) has now been resolved, with the loser withdrawing his legal challenge of the result.

This comes as NEC is expected to officially certificate winners of the October 10 elections on December 8, 2023.

In a heartfelt message to his supporters and constituents, Moses Y. Kollie, a member of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and the Friends of Moses Y. Kollie, expressed gratitude for their unwavering support during the election season and the subsequent legal proceedings.

Taking into consideration the unity and timely representation of Lofa County, Kollie announced his decision to withdraw the ongoing case at the National Elections Commission (NEC). This decision was made after extensive consultations with stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, as well as the National Executive Committee of the Friends of Moses Y. Kollie. Notably, Kollie acknowledged the influence and guidance of Uncle Thomas P. Fallah, who is not only a family member but also a trusted friend and brother.

Mr. Kollie’s latest concession comes after a group of Lofa citizens recently made an urgent call on NEC to certificate of their newly elected Senator, Momo Tarnue-Kollie Cyrus, with others urging the defeated CDC candidate to give up his challenge. In addition to this, Kollie has conveyed his warm congratulations to Senator-elect Momo T. Cyrus and the people of Lofa, hoping for a prosperous future for their beloved county.

With heartfelt gratitude, Moses Y. Kollie expressed his sincere thanks to his cherished allies, well-wishers, fellow Lofians, and all members and sympathizers of the CDC and the Friends of Moses Y. Kollie for their continued support, prayers, and commitment throughout this journey.
