Grand Bassa and Rivercess Get Medical Supplies Ahead Of Free Surgical Outreach

The county health teams of Grand Bassa and River Cess Counties have received a consignment of medical supplies in preparation of a charity-funded surgical outreach early 2025.

The supplies donated by Nyonblee Cares Foundation-Liberia on Friday, December 20, 2024 came with the assurances that the foundation will facilitate surgeries through the county health teams of Rivercess and Grand Bassa.

while the cost of the surgeries to be shouldered by the foundation was not disclosed, but the Foundation’s Director, George Stewart highlighted the success of the previous surgical outreach which benefited 87 individuals with various surgical conditions.

The donated items received by the County Health Officer (CHO) of Grand Bassa County, Dr. Jude Wesseh included: 28 cartoons of diapers, 4 cartoons of wraps, 25 cartoons of surgical gowns, 3 cartoons of wound care, 10 cartoons of surgical gloves, 21 cartoons of scrub tops, 2 cartoons of hand sanitizers, 10 cartons of syringes, and 2 cartoons of oxygen nasal, among others.

Receiving the donation, the Grand Bassa CHO, Dr. Wesseh acknowledged the continuous support of Nyonblee Cares Foundation, which he noted has helped the government of Liberia to address significant health needs in Grand Bassa County.

He also assured that his team would collaborate closely with the River Cess Health Team to fulfill all required roles of the upcoming surgical outreach in 2025.

Nyonblee Cares Foundation, established in 2011, is a nonprofit organization making interventions in critical areas: Health & Nutrition, Education and Community Development.
