The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) investigates vocal radio talk show host, Mr. Henry Costa about what it claims to be his questionable travel document which he denied, a number of his supporters on Monday protested near the US Embassy in Monrovia, requesting the Americans’ intervention.

Costa, leader of the Council of Patriots (COP), which has been staging a series of anti-government protests recently, allegedly entered the country from the United States with fraudulent Laissez-passer on December 19, 2019 through the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

The Immigration Service over the weekend said in a press statement: “LIS received report that Mr. Costa entered Liberia using forged travel documents, it did not arrest, stop nor accost him at the airport as he did not present himself to immigration officers,”

But the vocal talk show host over the weekend rubbished the claim, describing it as “witch hunt”.

A fierce critic of President George Manneh Weah and his CDC government, Mr. Costa made an unsuccessful attempt over the weekend to return to the US, where he resides and is attending college.

“I must be an idiot to check in and check out. The people stopped me from traveling and they wanted to seize my passport so I didn’t give it to them,” the COP leader said.

Mr. Costa further said: “Liberians remain in the U.S. and prepare their passports here in Liberia, how much more a laissez passé which is even a simpler document to obtain? My laissez passé was prepared right in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If it was forged, why didn’t they seize it upon my arrival? The Immigration officer checked it and allowed me to pass.”
