Jury Hands Down Verdict

Former senior state prosecutor nor Judge, Wesseh A. Wesseh has presided over his first trial since his appointment where jurors have brought down a unanimous guilty verdict against five defendants in Fishtown in Liberia’s southeastern River Gee County, as Garmah Never Lomo reports.

The trial jurors of the 15th Judicial Curcuit court of River Gee on Monday May 29,2023, brought a unanimous guilty verdict against five defendants who include James Weah, Albert Weah, Suku Sherman, Pedesco Saywon and Charles Nyanti for Murder and Criminal conspiracy after some two weeks of trial in Fishtown, River Gee County for killing one Rachel Weah after she went missing in Boah Dwehken, Grand Kru County on April 1, 2022.

This case was transferred from Grand Kru to River Gee on Change of Venue filed by prosecuting lawyer in Grand Kru.

Accordingly, the Assigned Circuit Judge for River Gee His Honor WESSEH ALPHONSUS WESSEH will impose judgement and sentence after a pre-sentence report from the Fish Town Central prison is received.

Meanwhile, Defense lawyers led by Cllr. Jerome C. Pour has taken exception to the jury verdict and will take advantage of the statute controlling.
