Infertile women want Gov’t include fertility program in Health Sector

Women and men suffering from infertility issues in Sanniquellie City are calling on the government of Liberia to include fertility programs in the health sector to end their long standing nightmare.

The women said if government can fund fertility program in the health sector to find solution to their infertility program,  it will be another boost for the Weah-led administration.

According to them, in the entire health sector, nothing is mentioned about fertility program something that has led them to be neglected in their respective communities.

A strong campaigner for the promotion of support to women with infertility

The women said they are suffering from many pains in their homes, husband and communities and even most often the spouses will walk out of the relationship due to their infertile conditions.

However, one of such in Sanniquellie City, Nimba County identified as Madam Ekie Baymie who has been married for over fifteen years but has never bear child.

The 45-year-old woman told this Reporter that she can be told that she is only in her husband’s home to eat free and woman has over shallow biological name in Sanniquellie zone two community.

Madam Baymie disclosed to this reporter she always received water from in her during sexual intercourse and she usually feel severe pain in her back like pepper adding that she can sometime be called AIDS patient due to infertile condition.

She further added that even though her husband has children in the home, but she is pain and agony and husband sometime frown on her adding “can you image if you have child how you be in the community?

Another infertile woman identified as Mary T. Zeagbea age 35 and a resident of Kanplay in Nimba County said infertile women are often discriminated and also being place in a special nomenclature that to sometimes think committing suicide.

The 35 years old infertile woman said several men have left her and her current husband and her have spent three years together and her condition still remains the unchanged even though her husband has children in the home.

Madam Zeagbea, disclosed she was told by health authorities that she has hook worm and whenever the medicine is given to it does not has any impact on her. She narrated that while, other women husbands are mocking at them, her husband always encouraging her and in search of solutions.

Explaining further, madam Zeagbea stated that woman who cannot bear has become her name and when she discipline some child for wrong she can be told that because she has not pain yet for child that why is beating their children she must not try it and if she wish to beat children she should born her own.

For her part, a 39-year-old woman known as Cynthia Dolo and a resident of Yakapa , Nimba County, since 1998 she gave birth to her first child, she has never bear any other child.

According to her, she carried out surgery for fibrous but nothing has been done to being situation to an end adding that her husband at times frown his face on her because of her infertile condition. But she encouraged this saying, I am not the fault despite her husband has another woman who is bearing children for him.

Narrating in her situation in tears, Madam Dolo explained she can be told community dwellers that her husband will use and dash her down.

She added that even for own items business in the community, whenever it has misuse by them and she try to talk about it nothing else she can be told but the items are her children.
