Kolahun,Liberia- The lack of mobility and a functional holding cell are said to be hampering the smooth operations at the Kolahun Magisterial Court in Kolahun district in Liberia’s northwerstern Lofa county.

According to the acting Stipendiary Magistrate at the Kolba City magisterial court, Andrew Kpeha, the court cannot even boast of having a single motorbike.

He said as a result of the challenges, transporting convicts or detainees to Voinjama remains a serious problem.

“Prior to the demolition of the Kolahun police station, we use to detained suspects, criminals and even converts while arranging to transport them to Voinjama,” the Stipendary Matistrate said.

But nowadays, he said suspects in Foya are transported to Kolahun for tria.

“That which we don’t have funding for,” acting Stipendiary Magistrate Kpeha emphasized.

He wants government to provide mobility for the court a speed up the re-construction of the Kolahun police station, which he believe will help in the smooth operation of the judicial activities in the district.

The Kolahun police station was demolished by government as a result of its poor condition and is currently been re-constructed by government with support from the United Nations Development Program the (UNDP).
