Police in Tiene, Grand Cape Mount County in western Liberia have the father of a two-year- old missing child and the child’s grandmother by been charged with allegedly recklessly endangering the safety of the child.

Both the man and his mother are charged with recklessly endangering a child, which is a first degree felony under Liberian law and they have been forwarded to court.

Police in the Cape Mount have been investigating residents of Zogbo Town since little Momo went missing early this month.

The police said the charge is in line with Chapter 14 Section 14.23 of the New Penal Law of Liberia, regarding circumstances surrounding the mysterious disappearance.

The boy child is said to have disappeared since January 13 2020 in Zogbo Town 3 AM where they had gone for a feast.

The child is said to have been in the custody of the father Varney Sambola, 23, who is said to have been spotted strolling with little Momo Sambola, hours before he went missing.

But he claims he returned the child after walking around with her to his mother who happens to be the child’s grandmother, an account the child’s grandmother disputes contending that she saw the child being taken away by the father but not aware if he was brought back.

Prior to the unfortunate incident, the mother and father of the kid are said to have since separated.
