HARPER, Liberia- The National Marylanders Association in the Americas has come forward to help meet the need for safe drinking water for two communities in the southeastern Maryland County, 403 miles from Monrovia.
The Association has dedicated tow hand-pumps in areas that are seriously lacking safe drinking water.
Official dedication of the hand-pumps took place recently.
The two communities include the New Harper Community in Harper District#1 and in Karluwayd, District #3.
On behalf of the Marylanders in the USA, Mr. Alex Bai Davis presented the hand-pumps to residents of the two communities.
He expressed gratitude to the citizens and assured them that their families in the United States have not forgotten about them.
“I am pleased at this time to present to you these two pumps that will enable you the Communities dwellers to drink safely and avoid drinking from the creeks,” Mr. Davis added.
