Four victims of a fire outbreak in Liberia’s Southeastern Sinoe County during the Christmas season, including a child, are still nursing their wounds, but one of the victims Amara Kromah has died.
Sinoe is about 362 kilometers from the Liberian capital, Monrovia.
The man, who sustained severe burn, succumbed to death after being admitted in hospital. Amara had braved the blaze to go into a room to rescue a child.
Report from Panama, Kpanyea District, Sinoe County says the four persons on critical list include a ten-month-old baby, who were admitted at t the F. J. Grant Memorial Hospital in the County’s capital, Greenville.
The incident occurred at around 12 noon on Christmas Day, December 25, 2019.
The report further said that at the time the house was gutted by fire, the little child was sleeping in one of the rooms and the mother went through the fire to get her baby. But due to the intensity the fire, she was unable and the child was later rescued by Amara’s little brother who is also in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the owner of the house, Mr. Thomas Febeh Junior has expressed shock over what happened.
He said he cannot blame anyone because it was an accident.
But the Landlord has called on humanitarian to help rebuild his house.
