KAKATA, Liberia- In an effort to buttress the developmental goals of the Liberian government under its Pro-Poor Agenda, Margibi County District # 3 lawmaker, Ellen Attoh Wren has dedicated a footpath in the District, easing movement of people and goods.

This area is situated over 70 kilometers east of Monrovia.

The colorful ceremony, which was held at the Mandigo Quartersear this week (September 6, 2020), brought smiles on community dwellers from Mandigo Quarter and Dartu-ta communities.

The bridge is said to cost US$1, 400.00 and it connects the Mandigo Quarter and Darth-ta communities. Proper access to various communities is a major challenge in both rural and urban communities across Liberia.

Other government officials, community leaders, religious leaders as well civil society leaders attended the ceremony.

Mother Emily Greaves Livingstone, Chairperson of the Mandingo Quarter Community thanked Rep. Wreh for being farsighted in seeing them smile, after she has seen the danger the old former “monkey-bridge” was harming on the communities dwellers.

Madam Kamara noted that indeed she has constructed the footpath bridge but  is also appealing  to the lawmaker to please used her oversight responsibility by making sure that LEC reach to Mandingo quarter and Darth-ta communities.

For her part, Ellen Attoh Wren explained that during the 2017 election campaign, she felt heartbroken after seeing the condition of her people was going through, noting that the situation if not handle properly would have created chaos in the future.
