A beautiful 2-year-old child is dead today because of an alleged stabbing by an adult in Liberia’s southern Rivercess County.

Police have arrested and currently are investigating a 23-year-old man identified as Friday Zian, alias Billl over the stabbing to death of the two-year-old girl, Hannah Pewee.

Bill reportedly stabbed little Hannah with a knife 18 times on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the ITI Community near the Rivercess-Sinoe border, before escaping the crime scene, according to the Coroner Jury’s report.

According to Yarkpazua Pewee, the victim’s father, Bill allegedly committed the act because he had money for him.

Mr. Pewee, who is a pastor of a church in the ITI Community, which Bill is also a member of, stabbed his daughter because he failed to give money he has been keeping for the perpetrator.

Pastor Pewee is the pastor of Amazing Fire Ministry, a church newly established in the ITI Community.

ITI is a major commercial area with gold mining and pitsawing as major sources of income.

Due to its commercial nature, it hosts people from all parts of Liberia and other ECOWAS countries.

Explaining to the Rivercess Broadcasting Service (RBS) radio FM 99.3 on Wednesday, Pastor Yarkpazua Pewee said that while he and some other members of his church were sitting in his yard, the alleged perpetrator walked in and asked him (Pastor Pewee) to give his money he had been keeping.

But according to him, his response to Bill (Friday Zian) was: “I do not currently have your money available.”

While in such exchange, Pewee said the alleged criminal grabbed his little daughter and began stabbing her with the knife.

Pewee did not state whether Friday Zian, the alleged killer walked in his yard with the knife he used to stab the child or it was obtained from his yard.

Emmanuel Gbae, Commissioner of Bearwor Administrative District termed the act as devilish.

He declared Wednesday as a non-working holiday in the ITI Community in observance of the two years old child’s death.

Mr. Gbae said it beats his imagination to see one human being sluggetering another while others stand by without apprehending said person.

The Bearwor Administrative District Commissioner has meanwhile, called on the Liberia National Police to do a proper investigation in bringing to book anyone linked to the death.

In March this year, the ITI community witnessed the vandalizing of the Liberia National Police deport in the area that hosted the joint security at the border town. Garmah Never Lomo compiled this report
