Washington DC- President Dr. George Manneh Weah December 11, landed in Washington DC to attend the US Africa Leaders Summit.
Dr. and Mrs. Weah and delegation arrived at the Ronald Reagan Airport a little after mid-day and were greeted by the Liberian CHIEF OF MISSION accredited to the US, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Jeff G. Dowana as well as Deputy Chief of Mission Isaac C. Yeah and Minister Counselor for Trade and Investment Sophia T. Mawlue.
Under a US Police security motorcade and heavily protected by US Secret Service and Liberian Executive Protective Service Personnel, The Liberian leader drove to the Fairmont Hotel in George Town DC, where he and his wife, Ambassador Clair Marie Weah were presented two bouquets of flowers by 4-year-old Lois Chichi Domah steadily guided by Deputy Foreign Minister for Administration, Mrs. Thelma C. Ducan Sawyer
Embassy staff on hand to welcome the President and delegation were: Minister Counselor for Finance/Administration Josiah Domah, Diaspora Counselor, Nadia Kamara and Counselor Vafumba Kromah. Others were Counselor Nyanda Finda Davies, Passport Attache Kathleen Demah, Second Secretary Theresa Charyoe and Second Secretary, Muna Tody Wah.
Minister Counselors Maryann Perry and Hellen Momoh as well Third Secretary Habiatua Pussah, Secretary Genevie Winstead and IT Consultant Ed Neblett were not too well to attend.
Local staffers, Rohan Abeysinghe Opul Jagoda and Nilmalka ably provided the needed logistical and operational support.
In a brief chat with the Embassy Personnel, the Dean of the Liberian cabinet, Foreign Minister, Dee-Maxwell Saah Keemayah, thanked the staff for their service to their country. Minister kemayah stressed that respect for one another in a professional and cordial work environment was crucial to the success of the mission.
He pointed out that President Weah has been working assidously for the past weeks to plead the case of Liberia to the world.
Dean Kemayah emphasised that Dr. Weah was upbeat and ready to showcase Liberia at the US Africa Leaders Summit.

the Africa Young Leaders Forum on Tuesday, December 13th at 8:05 a.m.
at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. He will speak on the theme; “Amplifying Voices: Building Partnerships that Last”.
The African and Diaspora Young Leaders Forum aims to elevate diaspora engagement, strengthen the dialogue between U.S. officials and African diaspora in the United States, and provide a platform for young African and diaspora leaders to fashion innovative solutions to pressing challenges. African Diaspora in the Americas includes African Americans, descendants of formerly enslaved Africans, and nearly two million African immigrants who maintain close familial, social, and economic connections to the continent.
The Liberian Leader engages citizens of Liberia residing in Canada and the Americas at a town hall meeting on tuesday, December 13th.
The program, under the banner, PALAVA HUT DEMOCRACY FORUM will be held in the Schuyler event center at the Hamilton Washington DC Hotel on 1001 14th street NW Washington DC 20005.
Dr. Weah will interact with his people begining at 8pm and the event is opened to the public.
The PALAVA HUT DEMOCRACY FORUM is organized by a cross section of Liberians residing in America and Canada under the leadership of Manneh George.
