CAPITOL HILL, Monrovia- As he joined Monday’s anti-government protest,Montserrado County Senator, Abraham Darius Dillon has said eighty percent of the Liberian Legislature are responsible for the problems Liberia is facing under President George Weah’s CDC government.
“I’m so happy to be here at the grounds of capital to do a follow up on our petition and demands submitted to the CDC led Government after the June 7 save the state protest,” Senator Dillon told Reporters on Capitol Hill.
The Council of Patriot headed by talk show host Henry Perdo Coasta has on Monday been staging a so far peaceful protest, where thousands have taken to the streets. He an executive of the opposition Liberty party. Senator Dillon told www.newspublictrust.com that the Council of Patriots (COP) is not a political party, neither a Political institution.
The Montserrado County Lawmaker, if we have a good legislature we will have a good president that will led this country well and the Liberian government is obligated to the Liberian people under Weah government.
Sen. Dillon said Liberia’s economy is in the eptic tank and we need someone who has the credentials and knowledge to take our Country Economy from that particular place.
The Liberty Party Lawmaker noted that majority of the members of the Liberian Legislature confirms individuals who are not potential and competent to serve the Liberian People we the plenty people also has problem.
For his part, the Secretary General of the former ruling Unity Party and spokesperson of the Council of Patriots, Mr. Mo Ali said the protesters are in it for a long haul.
“We are here until the President can send representative to bring forth a commented and timeline to our petition to be submitted to them,” Ali said.
The CoP spokesman said sometime its importance to sacrifice for the future generation and this is what we are doing here today.
“We are in the streets of Monrovia Advocating for our Country Liberia’s future leaders and our Economy as well,” Mr. Ali added.
