GBARNGA, Liberia- Bong County Attorney Jonathan Flomo has being assigned as a Mutual Assistance in the office of Liberia’s Solicitor-General and chief prosecutor in the Country.
Since he became County Attorney, Lawyer Flomo has been very robust and some Bong watchers say he has done so with a good level of professionalism, without fear or favour.
The purpose of this Mutual Assistance is to enable the Republic of Liberia to cooperate with foreign States in criminal investigations and proceedings.

In a letter dated May 18, 2020 from the office of Solicitor-General, Sayma Syrenius Cehus said, “We present our compliment and wish to inform you (Atty. Flomo) that in keeping with the government of Liberia’s commitment to the Mutual Assistance Act of 2012, which grants the government the authority to cooperate fully with other nations seeking mutual assistance within the territory of the Republic of Liberia for the prosecution of criminal cases in their respective jurisdictions, you are hereby assigned as the Competent Authority in the office of the Solicitor-General & Chief Prosecutor for and on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
The letter further quoted the Solicitor-General, Cephus as saying ‘note that this is not an appointment but rather an assignment that requires you to serve as a focal person under the direct supervision and control of the office the Solicitor-General to liaise with all international investigators and court officials regarding any mutual assistance being sought and thereby make the appropriate report.
Liberia’s Solicitor-General said Bong County Attorney Flomo was duly appointed and Commissioned as resident County Attorney for Bong County and this assignment is temporary, with a duration of 90 days.
It may be extended based on good performance or at the behest of any of the international partners.
