Speaker Chambers wants “realistic resolution and appropriate actions” on missing 16 billon

“The Leadership of the House of Representatives believes that this development should be the concern of all Liberians and form all persuasions and will do everything within the scope of the law to reach a realistic resolution and corresponding, appropriate actions will be taken with respect to the due process of law.” House Speaker Bohfal Chambers has said in a statement.

Since the news of missing billions Liberian dollars, broke, it has claimed the attention of Liberians from every sphere of the country and those living abroad.

Liberians wakeup to sad news of the disappearance of some 16 billion Liberian currencies and this has also claimed the attention of the Liberian Legislature.

In a press release, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bohfal Chambers said that the House will shortly convene a special session in the coming days to act on pertinent national issues which he said have attracted concern for the forward movement of the Liberian society.

The Speaker was unclear about the set date expected to convene the Special Legislative Session.

Speaker Chambers confirmed rumors of their possible return by saying in the release that amongst issues they are reconvening the Special Legislative Session turning to act on the Ministry of Justice recent response to the ongoing investigation about the 16 billion Liberian dollar banknotes in question will be the issue high on the agenda of the lawmakers.

He went on to say that other issues for the reconvening of Special Session are the Legislations of needed pieces of laws which he said are bordered on pressing national challenges.

The Chambers of that body is expected to be a heated; some lawmakers have openly called on the Liberian president to treat the issue with great interest and that anything on the opposite will lead to problem for the president and the CDC led government.

President Weah is under the microscope to take the harsh, but nationalistic decision to save his face from public outcry which is already ongoing.
