SPORTS: LFA Maryland Sub Association Disburses US$14,692 To Football Clubs

HARPER, Liberia- Maryland Sub Association of the Liberia Football Association in this southeastern county has donated six thousand, six hundred and Ninety two United States Dallor to Football teams in the county, who are participating in its footballing activities in the South Eastern County.

 

According to the Maryland Sub Association Chairman of the LFA, Mr. Fraklin B.Nah, each of the 3rd division teams will receive (1,031) one thousand thirty one United States Dallars taking part in the ongoing third division league been played both in Harper and Pleebo cities; while four community teams will also receive (580)five hundred and eighty United States Dallars for partaking in community football league being organized by the LFA.

 

Chairman Nah lamented that during a LFA held Press Conference at the Martha Tubman Sports Stadium that of the 1,031 one thousand thirty one USD given to each third division clubs (500) five hundred was giving the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and five hundred and thirty one Use was contributed by the World Football Governing body ( FIFA).

The Maryland Sub Association Chairman of the LFA told Journalists here that the funds donated are the LFA initial contribution to clubs partaking in footballing activities.

 

“The money been donated is the CAF-FIFA Coronavirus pandemic relief funds for third division clubs and Community teams and hope funds will be used for it internal purpose.”

 

Speaking to team of Reporters Nah Said after the heat of the COVID-19, the LFA thought of helping to provide this funds for clubs so as to improve on materials and equipment lacking.

 

Mr. Fraklin Nah disclose that four (4) Community teams within Harper District and (12) twelve 3rd division club’s in the both Harper and Pleebo Cities will benefit from the LFA (14,692) fourteen thousand six hundred and ninety two dallars.

 

Mr. Nah praised the President of the Liberia Football Association Mr. Mustapha Rajie for his continue advocacy and support to footballing activities in Liberia.

 

“This man is committed to improving football games in our country and I want to thank him for building a very strong relationship with both the Confederation of African Football and the World Governing Body FIFA through which we got this funds today.”

 

Also Speaking Future Lone Star Head Coach James Harmon thanked the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Confederation of African Football (CAF) and World Football Governing body FIFA for their timely support to the clubs in Maryland and Liberia at large.

 

James Harmon assures the Public that the funds received will be used for it internal purpose.

 

“I’m happy and glad to receive this money from the LFA as Coronvirus Pandemic Relief Funds to help us procure some materials and even help us pay our players stipend”

 

In another related development, Some Executive Members of the National Liberia Football Association are expected to arrive in Maryland County as of the second week in February.

 

Speaking on South Eastern Radio SEAL FM 90.5 in Harper, the Liberia Football Association, Maryland Sub Association Chairperson said the visit of the LFA Executive is amid at selecting a spot in the County for the construction of a modern sports stadium.

 

“I met Superintendent George A. Prowd of Maryland County and vice jury of the Liberian President on the issue of the construction of the modern sports stadium and the decision was welcome and we are actually awaiting the Executive from the LFA.”

                                                               

Some citizens in Harper City have begun public discussions about the selection and what boss of the Maryland LFA thinks about whether the Martha Tubman Sports Stadium is in the right position and should be renovated.

 

Seven mini sports stadium are expected to be constructed across the Country with south East hosting four of the seven stadiums.

 

Barclayville,Grand Kru, Greenville ,Since,Cesstos ,RiverCess,Zwedru, Grand Gedeh ,Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount, Bopolu ,Gbarpulo and Harper, Maryland County might benefit from the stadium construction under the Liberia Football Association President Mustapha Rejie regime.
