-Signs two-year Agreement with Amazing You

HARPER, Liberia-Tubman University Center for Gender and Development has received a consignment of goods worth US$4,500.00 for its entrepreneurship program.
The program, which is supported by Amazing You Incorporated, is aimed at improving the lives of students, women and girls through entrepreneurship.
According to the Gender Center, fifteens students from the six colleges across the University will benefit from the initiative. Each student is expected to receive a consignment of goods worth US$900.00 as a business startup. The goods will include, body lotion, bath soap, peanuts butter, books, corn beef, among others.
The partnership agreement between TU (CFGD) and (EAY) also seeks to provide venues for training and workshops as well as assisting the recruitment of training facilitators; identify students through set guidelines that will benefit female students for post-graduate scholarships provided by EAY –USA among other agreements.
Based on the agreement signed between the Amazing You (EAY) – USA and the Center for Gender and Development (CFGD) – WVSTU; the need for additional staff and or support staff by the Gender Center, a Volunteer (Focal Person) was hired on September 26, 2019 and commenced work on October 1, 2019 for a protracted period of one calendar year with possible extension. This is based on satisfactory performance to lead the Amazing You (Amazing Wave) Program through the Center for Gender and Development – TU.
TheAmazing You Programs are focus in the following areas students’ development & trainings, scholarships, empowerment through business opportunities for self-reliance, business sustainability of self-esteem discovery.
On Thursday February 7, 2019, The Center for Gender and Development of the William V S Tubman University (WVSTU/CFGD) signed a memorandum of Understanding with Amazing You (EAY) represented by it Coordinator Miss Ade Elliot Ledlum signed on behalf of the Center while the Chief Executive Officer of Amazing You Miss Effua McGowan also signed for her institution.
The MOU signed between William V. S. Tubman University Center for Gender and Development (WVSTU) and– USA based institution Amazing You (EAY) whereas Tubman University by and large through the Center for Gender and Development (CFGD) is to garner all available programs at her predisposal aimed at promoting the social and educational values of women and girls. This is an inherent component of promoting humanity and narrowing the gender gap; and building the capacity of women, creating independence, identify and prescreen of target beneficiaries with preference for women with knowledge running a business for income generation purposes, and identify training needs & follow-up on target beneficiaries
In November last year, the Center for Gender and Development at TU in collaboration with Amazing You conducted a two day workshop for 35 students from the University. The training was conducted by Amazing You (EAY) Chief Executive Officer Ms. Effua McGowan Effua.
