“Upholding The Rule Of Law: A Cornerstone Of Liberian Democracy”

(Last Updated On: )

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s acknowledgment of the Supreme Court ruling is a key landmark in the history of our country and its democracy. There is no doubt that the President’s speech is a huge policy benchmark which should be respected by all.

In constitutional democracy, President Boakai’s acknowledgment establishes accountability, transparency, and the rule of law. As the philosopher John Locke aptly put it, “Where law ends, tyranny begins.”

This principle underscores the importance of upholding the law and respecting the judiciary. By acknowledging the Supreme Court’s decision, President Boakai demonstrates his commitment to the social contract and the Constitution.

In light of this, we urge both members of the Majority and Minority blocs to respect this benchmark, ensuring that the current government functions without hindrance. If the law is the guiding principle, let us uphold it.

Together, we can build a brighter future for Liberia. Let us direct our efforts toward promoting national unity, accountability, and good governance. By embracing these principles, we can ensure that our democracy serves the people and advances the progress and prosperity of our great nation.
