TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- Four convicted armed robbers including a female now have to spend years in prison after being found guilty of the crime of armed robbery.

Criminal Court ‘D’ presided over by its resident Judge Mameita Jabateh Sirleaf has sentenced the female, Annie Johnson and three male armed robbers, after they were recently found guilty.

The others sentenced on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 are Matthew Williams, Victor Tuazama and Prince Yormie.

During the sentencing of the four armed robbers, the probation office report disclosed that convict Annie Johnson had no prior Criminal records. The probation office report established neighbors of convict Johnson was interviewed including her father in which they were told that they know her to be an armed robber but rather an oration girl (those who seeks around).

Convict Johnson didn’t participate in the robbery but rather facilitated. And as a result, her sentence was reduced to two years at the discretion of the Judge.

While, Prince Yormie, Matthew Williams and Victor Tuazama were sentenced to ten years imprisonment, because armed robbery has become their life job by harming peaceful citizens for their belonging in the Gardnerville surroundings.

Convict Annie Johnson asked an EPS agent to assist her on his motorbike on the 72nd boulevard road after she stood for long awaiting a vehicle, but she couldn’t get none.

When the EPS absent assisted her on his bike, while on their way going, another bike crossed in front of them with the three convicts named above. Convict Johnson left from the ESP agent bike and got on another bike leaving there he along with the three males convicts attacking him for his bike without her shouting to call the attention of those living nearby to help with situation.

The ESP agent was brutalized by those male convicts. But they were later arrested by community dwellers.

However, prosecution took exception to both Victor Tuazama and Annie Johnson sentence due to less number of sentences given to them because they proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and as such they should be sentenced in line with law.

Meanwhile, the defendants’ lawyers also excepted to the Judge ruling and announced an appeal to the Supreme Court of Liberia sitting in its October 2024 term of court.
