For her Refusal to Renew Love, Man, 52, Allegedly Kills Ex-Girlfriend

A 52- year-old man identified as Jacob Nyumah has allegedly killed his ex- girlfriend known as Fatu Sackie, age 30, in Liberia’s central Bong County for her refusal to renew his love relationship.

The deceased, Fatu, and Jacob had in previously been in a relationship and bore a boy child in Salala, 169 kilometers from Monrovia. The two are said to have later separated for a year and he wanted to settle down again with deceased; but she turned down his request for reasons known to herself.

Report says the Defendant Jacob Nyumah, who claimed to have been deeply in love with his ex-girlfriend, Fatu, last Sunday went to his friend Augustine Yah and told him that he (Jacob) has magical charm (medicine) to wash his gun, in order for him to kill more animals.

But Jacob told his friend, Augustine Yah that he could keep the gun overnight, so that the magical charm could be tested.

But he Augustine Yah, who never knew the intention of Jacob Nyumah, later heard that he had killed his former girlfriend, Fatu Sackie with gun the “promised to wash”, in order for him to kill more animals.

Defendant Jacob Nyumah allegedly killed the deceased Fatu, when he entered the room, where his son and Fatu were along with another person whom has threatened to kill. He then shot her in the chest and then escaped the scene.

After being shot, Fatu didn’t die on the spot but was rushed to the C.H. Rennie hospital in Kakata, Margibi County, where she was pronounced dead by Heath workers.

Meanwhile, Defendant Jacob Nyumah has since been arrested and charged with Murder by the Liberian National Police, in line with Chapter 14 sub section 14.6 of the revised Penal Law of Liberia, while his friend, Augustine Yah was charged with criminal facilitation.
