A dispatch from the Rome says Zeigler’s resignation been accepted by the Vatican, saying it’s in consonance with Canon 4.1.C1 Code of Panel Law on resignation upon reaching age 75.
According to the dispatch, the outgoing cleric who is now 76, tendered his resignation since 2018, but that its acceptance had been delayed.
