The Liberian President and Standard Bearer of the ruling CDC party has strongly warned opposition politicians against venturing into contesting for any Legislative seat in Montserrado County, ahead of the July 2, 2019 Senatorial and Representative Bi-elections.
At a time when the economy is in the doldrums and poverty is increasing, President George Weah did not only stop there, but hailed his well over one-year-old CDC government claiming to have achieved more than the Ellen Sirleaf government did in over 12 years.
Dr. Weah said the CDC is bound to repeat history by massively defeating opposition candidates in the senatorial and District slots in Montserrado County and therefore “no opposition should put foot.”
President Weah gave the warning when he officially received Paulitia Wie and Abu Kamara as senatorial and representative candidates in Montserrado County at the headquarters of the CDC in the Congo Town suburb of Monrovia earlier this week.
“But what I want to say, fellow CDcians, is that If you are hearing me across the globe and any part of the 15 counties, start coming.”
“Return to Montserrado County if you are a resident of this great county. If you are in the Diaspora, come back now if you belong to Montserrado County”
“We have to show to the world that Montserrado County that this where we were borne. Our activities are in Montserrado. Montserrado is ours and we must not allow anyone besides our candidates of the coalition.”
“ We have the rights to claim our property .I want all Cdcians , all Cdcians to make sure that the works of the late Senator Gbegbediyon Geraldine Doe Sheriff and the works of the Lion , the once I called Nehemiah Adolf Lawrence will not go in vain.”
“If you look in Montserrado County , you see nothing that was done for the last 12 years,” he said; adding: “ but when we came as chairman of the Montserrado Legislative Caucus development stared and we can attest to that.”
“ We played a major role in the county, from markets to schools, from bridges to roads the caucus did in this county,” President Weah said; noting: “ but I am saying to you , fellow Cdcians, for 12 years, we strategized and gave our friends the leverage to operate smoothly.”
“We did that because that we wanted you to see that they were not in the rightful position. They were not the people to construct this great country.”
“ You can see that since we came power even the most difficult parts of this country ; now you can see that there is road; there is electricity and we are working towards making sure that every slum community has road , electricity and running water.”
You can see that there is no comparison between the 12 years they took and the 18 months we have governed. There is actually no comparison.”
“ I want inform you that Cece Paulitia Wie and Abu Kamara are the next senator and the next representative . The reason I am asking you for these people to represent us is because they have the minds that shine like gold.”
” If I am campaigning today, I will say you that history will repeat itself. I want to remind those that are running around in Montserrado County that I have advised before and I am advising them now,.”
“ I am saying that let me reiterate that I have advised them before and I am advising them now you cannot invade someone home that does not belong to you. Please do not put foot , “
“ It is nothing new for them they did it before they saw the mighty CDC and now they will the mighty coalition. Because , we cannot give this county anyone else.”
“ I was bone on Capitol Hill and the birth of the CDC, the coalition took place in this county we will be there with you even it ios raining or sun is shining we will walk the miles.”
“ The only way that both of you cannot win Montserrado County un;less there is no God and God the mighty coalition will be with you and God bless.”
Presenting the two candidates ealier, the Chairman of the Montserrado County CDC primaries, Representative Aquarius Gray , disclosed that these two candidates were acceptable and consensus choices of the delegates at the primaries.
Earlier , defeated contestants declared that supports for the choices of the delegates and promised to campaign for them
