UNDP Resident Representative Presents Accreditation To Liberia’s Foreign Minister

Monrovia, Liberia–In a significant diplomatic gesture, Aliou Mamadou Dia, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Liberia, formally presented his letter of accreditation to Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently.

During their meeting, Minister Nyanti and Mr. Dia engaged in discussions centered on several key areas of collaboration, including poverty alleviation, governance, and the enhancement of institutional capacities.

The two reaffirmed their commitment to the long-standing partnership between the Government of Liberia and the UNDP, aimed at promoting sustainable development and tackling pressing socio-economic challenges.

Mr. Dia praised the Liberian government’s ongoing initiatives to foster inclusive growth, strengthen governance, and build resilience within communities.

He emphasized UNDP’s dedication to supporting Liberia’s strategic goals and addressing its developmental hurdles.

“UNDP remains committed to partnering with Liberia to drive progress toward development,” Mr. Dia stated. “Together, we can achieve transformative change and empower communities for a brighter future.”

In her response, Foreign Minister Nyanti expressed her deep appreciation for the consistent support from UNDP throughout the years, highlighting the crucial role of international partners in facilitating meaningful transformation in the country.

“UNDP has been a trusted partner in Liberia’s journey toward inclusive growth and sustainable development,” she said.

“We value this partnership as it significantly contributes to improving the lives of Liberians across the country.”

The Minister, who also serves as the Dean of the Cabinet, reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen its ties with UNDP and other development partners to effectively implement Liberia’s national development agenda.

Both Mr. Dia and Minister Nyanti committed to enhancing collaboration and exploring new partnership opportunities, emphasizing the importance of innovative solutions and coordinated efforts to meet Liberia’s development goals.

They underscored the need to align development initiatives with the country’s national priorities, ensuring resources are utilized effectively while delivering sustainable and impactful outcomes.
