GBARNGA, Liberia- It is not yet known who gunned down a local Journalist, Chris David working for the Catholic-run Radio Paraclete FM 93.7 in the central city of Gbarnga, Bong, whose body was found last Friday with bullet wounds.

Police have so far held no suspect in connection to the fatal shooting and killing of the journalist.

Journalist David’s bullet-ridden body was discovered on the afternoon of October 31, 2020 on the Gbarnga – Lofa Road.

He was reportedly shot dead while riding a motorbike. David’s corpse was seen with his motorbike over it.

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) says it is troubled by the development, terming it as barbaric, inhumane and an attack on the entire Media community in Liberia.

PUL President Charles Coffey wants the police and other relevant security agencies to speedily investigate the death of David; something that has now got Liberian journalists; particularly those in Bong County living in fear.

Motives behind David’s murder remains unclear, as his killer(s) took away nothing including his motor cycle.

News Public Trust Bong County correspondent recalls that the deceased was never among journalists dealing with the hard stories in the rural setting.

He was mainly involved with anchoring and continuity announcement.

Prior to joining the Radio Paraclete family, the Chris Davidd worked for the Hot FM in Gbarnga and Radio Joy Africa.
