TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- Defense Lawyers representing former Liberian Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and three of her family members believe that Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee’s Bodyguard, Vallee Telleh has something to explain about in the murder case of Cllr. Scott’s daughter, Charloe Musu.

               Late Charloe Musu

Criminal Court “A” on Thursday November 30,2023 ordered Mayor Koijee’s bodyguard, Telleh  to appear in court through a subpoenaed issued by the Court presided over by its resident Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie.

Judge Willie issued the subpoena based on a request from the defense lawyers ordering Vallee Telleh and Orange GSM companies.

Telleh’s subpoenae comes a day after Liberia National Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue testified in court, again upon the request of defense lawyers. Police IG Declared Hostile Witness In Ex-Chief Justice Gloria Scott Daughter’s Murder Case – News Public Trust

Initially, Varlee Telleh was accused by Cllr. Jerome Verdier of the United States of master minder behind the killing of the ex-chief daughter in the Brewerville community.

Varlee Telleh, whose death news has been circulating on the social media for a while and was also said to be missing in action, is expected to appear in court on Monday, December 4,2023.

Telleh was then considered as person of interest by the Liberia National police where he was investigated and exonerated.

Not being satisfied with police exonerating Mayor Koijee’s special bodyguard, co-defendant Gloria Musu Scott team of lawyers have requested the court to subpoena him and his call log from February 21-25,2023.

The defense lawyers also requested the court to issue a subpoena Ad testificandum to be served on orange GSM company on this number +23177142113 and easy reference, it is Samsung galaxy A53-Imei which bears certain number for easy reference and the number is 351024051489354.

Cllr. Scott’s team of lawyers requested court to issue a subpoena Ad testificandum and Duces tecum to be served on the following orange numbers +231776011848 and Lone Star 0880898722 and also +231886529330. These three last numbers were being used and owned by co-defendant Gloria Musu Scott and defendants are also seeking the court to aid them through the GSM companies to know who is using these now as per the incident and that can be determined when they are subpoenaed from the time the incident occurred from February 21, 2023 up to and including present.

Defense lawyers also asked the Criminal Court “A” to order the GSM companies to locate the phones of Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott because the GSM companies have the capacity to do so.

In resisting the application above, state prosecutor told court to deny the defense lawyers application because it lacks specifications which means, they don’t know what they want.

The government lawyers said, Varlee Telleh was investigated by the Liberia National Police and exonerated and so there is no need to subpoena him.

State prosecutor requested court to deny defense lawyers application because their application is meant to delay the trial.

Meanwhile, Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie granted the defense lawyers application stating that it relevant to the case because the defendants are weaker vessels and Varlee Telleh is important to the case.

Judge Willie further indicated that Varlee Telleh is relevant because when the number is being used, where it is being used and what time it is being used and therefore, the objection by prosecution is overruled and the application is granted and the clerk is hereby ordered to subpoena decu tecum and ad testificandum on Varlee Telleh through the City Mayor of Monrovia to come and testify to his telephone number that he has in this file and it is also included to be subpoenaed by this court to the GSM companies to produce the usage of that number between February 21-25,2023 and the other number belonging to co-defendant Scott wil be subpoenaed.

The subpoena should direct those concerns to appear with the documents that have been referenced to on Monday, December 4,2023 at 10am prompt.
