Armed Robbery Attempt Triggers Mob Violence In Kakata City

In the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, Kakata City witnessed a disturbing incident of mob violence, following an alleged armed robbery attempt in the Matella Community.

The individual at the center of the incident, identified as Jonah Farmer, also known as “Sweet Candy,” is a 36-year-old man from the Gola tribe residing in the Lango Town Zinc Camp Community. Eyewitnesses suggest that Farmer attempted to steal a motorbike, prompting local residents to pursue him. As the chase ensued, he reportedly brandished a short single-barrel gun and threatened the crowd.

Businessman Michael M. Willie, who is affiliated with CCTV Book, witnessed the events and is said to have recorded the unfolding incident.

The situation escalated when the mob confronted Farmer at Kaifee Yard, located in Madina Community near the swamp. There, he was allegedly assaulted, leaving him in a comatose state.

Eyewitnesses have further conformed that he has been involved onto several issue of such.

Jonah Farmer has been aiding the police in Kakata for more than three years.

According to eyes witnesses, he has early ported to be a police officer on the crime sense.

Residents Margibi have further called on the Liberia National Police attention to intimation by police aides.
