With a US$10K bond, Pastor Juah and son freed from Monrovia Central Prison

With their Lawyers’ filing of a Sky International Insurance Company US$10,000.0 bond, the Proprietor of the Soltiamon Christian School, Pastor Solomon Juah and his son were on Wednesday released from detention at the Monrovia Central Prison, were they were jailed on Tuesday.

The Liberian cleric and his son, Juah, Jr. (Dean of the School) were sent to jail on Tuesday after a bail was not processed on allegation of recently flogging a 16-year-old tenth grade female.

This is in line with Chapter 4 of the insurance law of Liberia.

The Sky international Insurance Company defendants criminal appearance said Defendant Solomon Joah Sr. and Solomon Joah jr. will appear before the court from day to day to answer to the charge of aggravated assault and Criminal facilitation until duly discharged from said crime. And if convicted of said crime, the two Soltiamon school authorities will surrender themselves unto the custody of the sheriff of the court to undergo the full sentence of the law, then these present shall become null avoid otherwise to remain in full force and effect.

Also in the defendants surety affidavit, the pair are to personally appear before the office of Justice of peace Montserrado County and the Republic aforesaid, Sky insurance company represented by and thru its authorize agent.

The company is a registered insurance business entity within the Republic of Liberia, in keeping with the Liberia business corporation act and has since operated in like manner unto and including the filing of the bond.

Sky International Insurance Company is also free from all taxes and that the amount offered is to secure the availability of the defendants when the case is called.

Earlier on Wednesday, reeling from the shock of the dramatic turn of event, the wife of Pastor Juah collapsed and was rushed to the JFK Medical Center in Monrovia.

Mrs. Juah, a long time educator, who is said to be a pressure patient, is currently responding to treatment in hospital, a family source told www.newspublictrust.com a short while ago. Report by Garmah Never Lomo and our Staff Writer
