Military Camps In Nimba, Margibi And Grand Gedeh

The Liberian government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Armed Forces of Liberia in providing them the environment to train effectively, serve professionally and live decently with their families.
President Joseph Boakai said adequate housing, proper sanitation and functional workplace are not luxury, but they are fundamental necessity for a professional military force.
President Boakai made the statements at the dedication of the Camp Grant Military Barracks by the Ministry of National Defense in Sanniquellie, Nimba County during the weekend.
In remarks, the Superintendent of Nimba County, Kou Meapeh Gono, said the positioning of the Armed Forces of Liberia in Sanniquallie is more than strategic because it is deeply symbolic.
According to her, the presence of the AFL gives them comfort and it is an indication of their protection as the strength of the Liberian state is there with them.
Meanwhile, the Minister of National Defense has observed that the dedication of the Camp Grant military Barracks for the Armed Forces of Liberia is a symbol of renewal, resilience and national unity.
Minister Geraldine George said it is a bold testament to the commitment of the government to strengthen security architecture in the country, to decentralize the state’s defense capability and to build a professional, discipline and people’s centered military.
Remarking during the during the dedication of the Camp Grant Military Barracks by the Defense Ministry in Sanniquellie, Nimba County during the weekend, Minister George pointed out that it is a realization of the vision where every county will the protection by the AFL.
In a related development, the Senate’s Committee on Defense, Security and Veteran Affairs has assured the Ministry of National Defense of the necessary cooperation in the ministry’s objective in providing housing for members of the Armed Forces of Liberia.
According to Senator Momo Cyrus, the Liberian Senate will always work towards the prioritizing the welfare of the men and women in arms.
The program was graced by high command of the Armed Forces of Liberia, profile officials of government, traditional leaders, women and youth groups, among many others.
