Citizens in Liberia’s southeastern Grand Gedeh County have all reasons to smile, because the Liberian government has announced the construction of 100 housing units in their county.

This comes after President Weah has constructed hundreds of housing units in his native Grand Kru County, after taking office over two years ago.

The pronouncement was made on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 by Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Smith Toby at a regular press briefing held at the current seat of the Liberian government.

Mr. Toby told reporters that the President seeks to remove ordinary citizens of that part of Liberia from misshaped structures and provide for them an appreciable standard of living.

Making the pronouncement, Mr. Toby indicated that a team from the Liberian government through the Liberia Agency for  Community Empowerment(LACE)  is expected to soon visit Grand Gedeh with the purpose of securing the site on which the 100 units is expect to be built.

Although, Mr. Toby failed to provide the source of the project, when he was asked about the monetary Value of the project, he said all of the rest of the information relating to the dollars and cents can be gotten from LACE.

“The president intends to have these kinds of housing units in all the counties,” the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary said.

According to him, the President of Liberia has at heart the ordinary Liberians and wants to change their lives.

Speaking additionally, Toby said there are many Liberians who are yet to believe that President Weah is now the president of Liberia and he has the pressing desire to transform the living conditions of citizens of the country.

He said “live with the belief or disbelief” the president will do as promised.

Moreover, he said the President’s project in Sasstown Town is nearing completion and will be given to citizens of that part of Liberia free.

“The President project is given to citizens free. It is like the one at the Popo Beach and all other President housing projects,” Mr. Smith Toby added.
