VOINJAMA, Liberia– The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Lofa County District #1 Representative, Thomas P. Fallah, has made an initial financial contribution of US$5,000 toward the reconstruction of Radio Kintoma 101.1 FM, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening community media and promoting access to information in Liberia.
The donation was presented to the newly constituted Reconstruction Project Committee established by the Board of Directors of Radio Kintoma to mobilize resources for rebuilding the community radio station following damage to its infrastructure.
Presenting the cash on behalf of Fallah, Mr. George Fallah disclosed that the donation as Deputy Speaker Fallah’s initial support to boost the reconstruction campaign.
“This is just an initial support for the committee’s work as it begins implementing plans to restore the station” George noted.
Receiving the donation, the chairman for reconstruction committee expressed profound appreciation to Rep. Fallah for his generosity and leadership, noting that his contribution demonstrates confidence in the vital role community radio plays in informing, educating, and empowering citizens.
According to Justice M. Kelleh, Radio Kintoma has over the years served as a trusted source of news, civic education, agricultural information, public health awareness, youth development, and peacebuildin initiatives across Lofa County and neighboring communities.
He called on other government officials, development partners, members of the business community, and well-meaning Liberians at home and abroad to emulate Rep. Fallah’s example by contributing to the reconstruction effort.
“This Reconstruction Project Committee remains committed to ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the fundraising and implementation process, with the goal of restoring Radio Kintoma to full operation as soon as possible” Justice added.
Deputy Speaker. Thomas Fallah recently participated in several development initiatives benefiting Lofa County, including activities involving Radio Kintoma and other community projects.
