If confirmed by the Liberian Senate, a Liberian female Lawyer, Cllr. Ceaineh D. Clinton-Johnson will become the third woman on the Supreme Court Bench, after the Executive Mansion announced the nomination this weekend.

Cllr. Clinton-Johnson one time served as Judge of the Criminal Court “B” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

Her nomination by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is to replace the fallen Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe who died several months ago after a period of illness.

The President’s latest move comes a week after the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) expressed concern over what it said was a delay in President Boakai naming a replacement of the late Justice Nagbe.

As Judge of the Criminal Court “B” last year, Cllr. Clinton-Johnson described as unacceptable public perception that Judges in Liberia are corrupt.
