Liberia Records One More COVID-19 Death, with Confirmed Cases Rising to 76

Confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Liberia is rising, as the death toll goes up to seven.

In the latest Update from the National Public Health Institute (NPHIL), three more new confirmed cases are reported in the country, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 76. The Update released earlier during the day of April 16, 2020 put the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 73.

Infant as young as one month has become victim of the virus in Liberia, according to the latest update.

  • Three (3) new confirmed cases reported on 16 April 2020 from Montserrado County
  • Cumulatively, seventy-six (76) confirmed cases including seven deaths have been recorded with eighteen health workers
  • The age range among confirmed cases is 1 month to 74 years with median age of 41 years
  • One thousand two hundred seventy-five (1275) contacts including 223 health workers have been documented
  • A total of 668 (52%) contacts have completed 14 days since exposure
