 Press Release

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) is proud to announce the official dedication of its new Head Office, scheduled for this Thursday, August 28, 2025.

This significant event reflects a crucial step toward enhancing the Union’s institutional dignity. It marks a major infrastructural upgrade from its current location on Clay Street, where it has operated for the past twenty-three years.

Securing a new Head Office has been a long-standing objective among PUL’s membership, yet previous leadership since the early 2000s had not initiated this vital process. The current PUL Leadership views this achievement as a crucial foundation for realizing its long-term vision of constructing a National Headquarters, which is scheduled to commence in the first half of 2026.

“The Press Union of Liberia is fortunate to possess its own land at 14th Street, Sinkor, acquired during the progressive leadership of Abraham Massaley in 1997. It is imperative that, as a Union, we now mobilize the necessary financial and material resources to establish our own headquarters. This endeavor will empower us to continue our advocacy for journalists’ rights, press freedom, free speech, and democracy, all of which are critical for the development of Liberia,” stated the PUL Leadership.

The new Head Office is situated at Warner Avenue, 9th Street, Sinkor, conveniently adjacent to the Monrovia Christian Fellowship.

The PUL is encouraging all Liberian journalists, media and communication practitioners to grace the occasion which will be attended by a host of dignitaries from government and civil society.

Signed:

Julius Kanubah

President/PUL
