More Laurels For NaFAA Boss: “DG Glassco Sustainably Managing Fisheries Resources Not Squandering”

Liberia-Authorities of the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinions (CEIO) a Liberian civil society group has termed the performance and achievements of the Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), Mrs. Emma Metieh Glassco as overwhelming success for the CDC led government.

According to a NAFAA press release, the Executive Chairman and the Secretary General of CEIO collectively declared that Madam Glassco has over the last five years demonstrated excellence in the discharge of her duties thus attracting huge international attention to the Liberian Fisheries sector.

Secretary General Dash Elliot noted that Madam Glassco has for the past years been ‘sustainably managing fisheries resources and not squandering’, stating that her current work output can hugely attest to the fact that she has managed the sector professionally.
“DG Glassco is sustainably managing the Liberian fisheries resources and not squandering as seen from her work output locally and internationally”.

Chairman Weah emphasized that of all the appointments President George Manneh Weah has made since his government assumed office in 2018, Madam Glassco is among the best performing government officials that are executing the mandate of the pro poor government.

Speaking Friday March 3, 2023 when the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinions ( CEIO) honored Madam Emma Metieh as the “best public servant of the year 2022” in the CDC led government, Chairman Weah insisted that from Madam Glassco past and current performance records she remains unmatched in the George Weah administration thus attracting the attention of the international community.

Chairman Weah emphasized that of all the appointments President George Manneh Weah has made since his government assumed office in 2018, Madam Glassco is among the best performing government officials that are executing the mandate of the pro poor government.

Speaking earlier, Secretary General Elliot said Madam Glassco and team have over the years performed magnificently to the contrary of their critics who previously claimed that they were inexperience and were appointed to squandered government fisheries resources.

He said Liberia’s international partners can attested to the fact that Madam Glassco is currently delivering as Director General of the fisheries sector which was dead over the few years due to the lack of a vision bearer in the name of Emma Metieh Glassco.

At the same time Elliot noted that CEIO’s award is extremely prestigious and enviable as such they do not rush to in giving individual awards without proper vetting of such individual.

Responding after receiving the award from CEIO’s Executive Chairman Adolphus Weah, the Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority Madam Emman Glassco urged for the reelect President George Weah in October as president of Liberia.

Madam Glassco mentioned that President Weah has reposed confidence in Liberians particularly the youth thus appointing several of them at key government ministries and agencies.

She noted that several of those young Liberians have in return perform in their respective roles thus bring pride to their president.
