AlPHA TOWN, Margibi, Liberia– A devastating fire outbreak in Aloha’s Town has claimed the life of one-month-old Alpha Janneh, son of Ms. Bendu Alpha.
The tragic incident, which occurred Monday afternoon of August 11, 2025 when Ms. Alpha had bathed her son and laid him on the bed inside their house, while attending her daily chores.
Alpha Town is situated in Margibi County Fourth Electoral Districts, where many residents have expressed disappointment in the district leadership headed by Rep. Emmanuel O. Yarah.
According to eyewitnesses, Ms. Alpha was seated outside with other children when she heard the sound of fire coming from inside the house. Despite her efforts, she was unable to control the flames, and her baby was trapped inside.
Police investigation led by CIP Joseph B. Diggs was launched, and a team of investigators arrived at the scene to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation revealed that the house contained a motorbike, Three new power saws, a solar panel system, and Three begs of 25Kg rice (all burned)

A coroner’s jury, comprising 15 members, was convened to examine the evidence. After their observations, they concluded that the fire was accidental, resulting in the tragic death of the child.
The authorities have released photographs from the crime scene, which support the conclusion that the fire was not intentional.
This heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the community, causing several residents.
According to the residents, Rep. Yarah has since refused to live up to his campaign promises including road connectivity.
The Alpha Town residents further call on the County Legislative circus to ade them in the time of difficulties.
