The ALP leader is one of the strongest allie of former Liberian Vice President Joseph Boakai, who is leader of the main opposition Unity Party (UP).
Now, Mr. Urey, who is a shareholder of the Lone Star cell GSM company, is going back to court, but this time not as a plaintiff but as a defendant.
An application seeking to end her thirty-six (36) years of marriage with her husband, Benoni Wilfred Urey, has surfaced before the civil law court ‘A’ at the Temple of Justice by Mrs. Mai Bright Urey.
Mrs. Urey, the mother of four, got married to the ALP political party leader on May 25, 1986, filed in for divorce at the civil law court that her decision to end their marital contract is based on incompatibility of temper.
Urey’s wife, who is known to be power behind the thrown of their business empire, furthered that she is not interested in any property belonging to her the ALP political leader, all she needs is an amount of US$1000 to pay her lawyer.
While incompatibility of temper remains the only count action by Mrs. Urey, there are also speculations that her action is in connection to her husband’s recent decision to drag the Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress, Mr. Alexander Cummings, to Court.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Mr. Urey is already under the jurisdiction of the Criminal Court based on a writ of summon and has interposed no objection to his wife’s action of divorce for incompatibility of tamper as provided by law.
