Over US$54K Yowee Health Center Finally Opens In Bong Co.

ZOTA, Liberia-The Ministry of Health office in the central Bong County has finally opened the controversial Yowee Clinic in Zota District valued over  fifty four thousand six hundred and twenty two United State Dollars (US$54,622.00).

After more than twelve years of controversies, citizens of Wolapolue Clan in Zota District now have an easy accessed to the Yowee Clinic in the County.

Giving the overview of the project on September 20, 2020, the Administrator of the Bong County Health Team, Jonah N. Togbah said the clinic project started lately under former Rep. Edwin T. Juah, Juah along with former Rep. Lester M. Paye oversaw the construction of the project up to roof level, during which time Rep. Paye spent thirty-four thousand United States Dollars (US$34,000) towards the construction of the clinic.

The Bong County Health Team administrator at the same time revealed that the current Lawmaker that helped for the opening of the Yowee Clinic was Senator Henry W. Yallah.

According to Mr. Togbah, Senator Yallah provided twelve thousand six hundred and twenty-two United States Dollars ($12,622.00 USD).

Mr.Togbah blasted and termed as malicious and ridiculous statement made by the district current Representative, Robert Flomo Womba of electoral District#4 that he (womba) gave fifty thousand United States Dollars ($50,000.00) to the Bong County Health Team Administrator for the opening of the controversial Yowee Clinic.

Prior to the dedication of the health facility, Representative Womba told citizens of Yowee Town in Wolapolue Clan that he allotted fifty thousand United States Dollars (US$55,00) to Mr. Togbah, Administrator of the Bong County Health Team for the opening of the Yowee Clinic.

An allegation that the Bong County Health Team Administrator has denied in the County.

Additionally, the Bong County Health Team Administrator has challenged Rep. Womba to provide prove for such allegation.

He made it clear that the Ministry Health allotted fifty thousand United States Dollars; not a Legislative support fund claimed by Rep.Womba. Out of the fifty thousand United States Dollars, he said they were able to get eight thousand United States Dollars (US$80,000).

The Bong County Health Team administrator said eleven person have been employed by the Ministry of Health to work at the Yowee Clinic, noting that out of that number six person are from Yowee Town.

The Bong County Health Team Administrator further lauded fromer Rep. Juah, Paye, Sen. Yallah and citizens of area for their efforts in making sure that the health care delivery system is improved in the County.

The dedication ceremony was intended by former Rep. Lester M. Paye, Sen. Henry W. Yallah, Rep. Robert Flomo Womba, Superintendent Esther Walker and local leaders in the District.

In remarks, Rep. Womba lauded the citizens and the Ministry of Health for the construction of the clinic, noting that it will help in proving the health care delivery of his people.

He provided two mattresses and other medical material to the clinic.

Also speaking, Sen. Yallah lauded former Rep. Lester M. Paye and Rep. Edwin T. Juah for the initiative.

The Bong County Senator at the same time reaffirmed his commitment in helping to butterss the Ministry of Health effort in the health care delivery system in the County.
