As Pres. Boakai Makes More Nominations/Appointments In Gov’t

The latest batch of appointments/nominations coming from the Executive Mansion has included the name of Liberia’s renowned broadcast Journalists, Hassan Kiawu, who is to serve as Deputy Director General for Media Services at the state-owned Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).
He brings to this new portfolio a strong belief in good Journalism and a commitment to professional broadcasting built on enhancing quality production and presentation.
A press release from the presidency issued today, Thursday, April 11, 2024 says Mr. Kiawu, a former LBS senior Producer and a former British Broadcasting System (BBC) Journalist, has been appointed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to this position. Mr. Kiawu also holds two Masters degrees from the United States in the area of media and communication.
In what is seen as an early reshuffle at LBS, the Executive Mansion has sent another listing of top officials at the state broadcaster reassigning some people who were listed in an earlier press release. With the latest listing reflecting the following individuals at LBS. And the Board of the state broadcaster has also been constituted by the Liberian leader.

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has nominated and appointed additional members of government affecting the Liberia Medical Health Regulatory Authority (LMHRA), the Liberia Institute for Public Administration (LIPA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National AIDS Commission, the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), the National Port Authority (NPA), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Independent Information Commission (IIC), the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, ((NaFAA), and the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK).
These nominations where applicable, are subject to consent by the Liberian Senate.
