Pres. Weah names Judge Yussif Kaba as Supreme Court Associate Justice

Less than 72 hours after the Senate’s impeachment of Associate Justice Kabineh Ja’neh, President George Manneh Weah has nominated former Civil Law Court Judge and a Judge at the ECOWAS Court, Yussif D. Kaba to replace him on the Supreme Court Bench.

An Executive Mansion press release issued on Monday, April 1, 2019 says President “this appointment is subject to confirmation.”

In December 2017, Judge Kaba was sworn in as Liberia’s Representative to the ECOWAS Court in Abuja, Nigeria as Vice President, replacing Liberia’s representative in that slot, Justice Wilkins Micah Wright.

Judge Kaba also previously headed the Criminal Court ‘C’ at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
