The war of words continues between rival parties in the ongoing Press Union of Liberia (PUL) leadership rift over the holding of the controversial Gbarnga election.
A call on the public and media development groups not to do business with the outgoing Charles Coffey-Daniel Nyankonah leadership, amid the stay order placed on the Union’s activities by the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, Bong County, has been dismissed, an assertion describe as ignorance by Team Kanubah.
The PUL’s press release issued in Monrovia today, December 22, 2022 was triggered by a press statement issued by Team Kanubah Wednesday.

PUL Expresses Dismay Over Calls By Team Julius Kanubah Against the Union
The leadership of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) says it is dismayed by Team Julius Kanubah recent statement calling on local and international organizations not to work with the Press Union of Liberia (PUL).
The Union believes that such statement has exposed the ignorance of the Team and its attempt to undermine the credibility of the PUL, institution Team Kanubah wants to lead.
The Press Union of Liberia clarified that the Nineth Judicial Circuit in Bong County only placed a stay order on the induction of the new leadership elect or officers elect pending the court action on the declaratory judgment filed by the Julius Kanubah Team and not the operation of the Press Union of Liberia.
The leadership of the Press Union headed by Charles B. Coffey, Jr as President remains in charge of the Press Union until the inauguration of the new leadership.
The Union in a release maintained that all attempts to resolve the Union elections dispute have been undermined and thwarted by the Julius Kanubah Team.
The Kanubah Team has used the entire PUL election campaign period and this post=election period to propagate falsehood, misinformation, disinformation and lies with the sole aim of tarnishing the reputation of the Press Union of Liberia and its leadership.
The leadership has vowed to follow the legal process to the end and urged all members of the Union including the two parties to continue to respect the court process.
Meanwhile, the offices of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) remain operational with its leadership working daily in the interest of the journalism community.
The leadership of the Press Union of Liberia is therefore calling on the Julius Kanubah Team to stop its regular propaganda of lies and misinformation to engage in the ongoing dialogue or follow the legal process it initiated.
