“I trust in you, LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands.”Psalm 31:14-15 NIV

There are seasons when waiting can feel heavier than working. We pray, we plan, we hope, and still the answer does not arrive when we expected it. The door does not open when we thought it would. The burden does not lift as quickly as we wished.

And when life refuses to move according to our timetable, fear often tries to take control of the heart.

But King David gives us a better confession: “I trust in you, LORD.” He does not say this because life is easy. He says it because God is faithful. Faith is not the absence of pressure. Faith is the decision to place our pressure in the hands of God.

Jesus told Jairus in Mark 5:36, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me.” That word was spoken when the situation looked hopeless, when time appeared to have run out, and when human possibility seemed gone. Yet Jesus was teaching him, and He is teaching us, that delay is not defeat when God is still in control.

What fear wants to do is make us believe that late means lost. But God’s timing is never careless. He does not panic. He does not forget. He does not miss the moment. Our times are not in the hands of chance, people, pressure, sickness, enemies, or circumstances. Our times are in God’s hands.

That means we can pray without trying to force God’s calendar. We can ask without demanding a deadline. We can work faithfully without carrying the whole weight of tomorrow on our shoulders. Trust does not mean we stop caring. It means we stop pretending we are God.

So when the day feels too crowded, ask the Lord to help you discern what matters most. When your calendar is full and your strength is limited, surrender your schedule to Him. When your heart is anxious about what has not happened yet, speak David’s prayer until it becomes your own: “I trust in you, Lord. You are my God. My times are in your hands.”

Begin today with that confession. Say it over your family. Say it over your work. Say it over your unanswered prayers. Say it over the things you cannot control.

Lord, my time is in Your hand. My future is in Your hand. My waiting is in Your hand. My healing is in Your hand. My next step is in Your hand. Therefore, I will not live by fear. I will trust You.

Your schedule may feel uncertain, but your life is not abandoned. Your answer may seem delayed, but your God is not absent. And because your time is in His hand, you can walk today with peace.
