ALP Leader Benoni Urey Donates US$11K, Original Country Man, Dr. Thomas Nimene Donates LD$200K Plus 25KG Bags Of Rice, Ahead Of Nigeria Encounter

By Amara Konneh (LINA)–Ahead of the much-anticipated soccer match against the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers, Liberia Prominent Businessman and Politician, Benoni Urey has donated US$1,000 to the Female U-17 National Team of Liberia to motivate the team, as they prepare lock horn with Nigeria in the first leg of the Qualifiers at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
Liberia Women’s U-17 will on June 9, 2024 play host to Nigeria on home soil after defeating the Teranga National Team of Senegal 2-0 to gain promotion to the next round in the competition.
Expressing his emotional feelings and motivation to the young Liberians athletes for demonstrating good soccer skills and eliminating Senegal, the All Liberians Poltical Leader admonished the girls to remain focus as it is amazing to see young girls who chose to better themselves in society through soccer and contribute rather than being abused of narcotic substances(drugs) and alcohol.
The Liberian Businessman and Politician spoke to the players at the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg, Lower Montserrado County as he commended the players for a great honor by defeating Senegal to advance in the next round of the competition at the same time wished the girls victory against Nigeria.
Mr Urey who was accompanied by his daughter and president of LFA Upper Women’s League Club, Shiatta Angels, Benita Urey also made a pledge of an additional One Thousand United States Dollars as winning bonus in the first leg at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex.
In another development, former aspirant in Electoral District #11 Montserrado County, Dr. Thomas Nimene has donated LD200K plus 25KG bags of rice as a meaningful contribution to the girls as motivational factor before the match against Nigeria.
Dr. Tweh who is branded by the name “Original Country Man” through his representative under the emblem Original County Man Movement OCM, Atty. Tonia Gibson lauded the girls on their performance against Senegal as they gain qualification to the next round which is commendable, adding that he has been watching with keen interest in Women’s Football due to thier capabilities and potential in soccer.
