Africa Sports Academy 2-0 FC QUINCY| Tokpah And Jallah’s Goals In Big Kakata Derby Win

It’s a game FC Quincy fans will forever remember for a long time as Nathaniel Tokpah and Govego Jallah strikes saw Africa Sports Academy cruise to victory against FC Quincy.

The most talked about fixture in the upper end of Margibi County came to an end over the weekend as Africa Sports Academy clinching a 2-0 win over nearest neighbor FC Quincy in the Kakata derby for the first time of the season.

The El’Classico match was in continuation of the chase for silverware in the hunt for championship in the LFA-Margibi Sub-Association Third Division 2023/2024 League Season.

Nathaniel Tokpah gives the home team an early lead in the 9’mins from a tricky kick outside the 18-yard box of the visitor to give his team Africa Sports Academy an early 1-0 lead over FC Quincy.

And with much enthusiasm from the home team at the jammed packed opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata on Sunday 18 February the home team increase the score to 2-0 in the 15’mins from the penalty spot through the team current top goal scorer Govego Jallah after center referee Emmanuel Dehnmie blew for a foul played in the 18-yard of the box from   a reckless tackle from one of the defender of FC Quincy.

The meeting marks the first between the two most famous club in Kakata since the start of the season, while the win marks the third in a row for Africa Sports Academy.

And on the other hand, it marks the second defeat for FC Quincy in the competition.

Tokpah lone goal marks his first for club while Jallah lone goal marks his fourth for club in the competition.

Jallah’s goal against FC Quincy makes him the club highest goal scorer with 4 in 7 appearances for club in the competition.

Africa Sports Academy win over FC Quincy on Sunday 18 February moves the club to 5th place on the league table with 10 points from 7 games.

In total, the club recorded three wins, three defeats and a single draw.

The Margibi County Champions Africa Sports Academy travels to Harbel on Sunday, 25 February in an away fixture to Weitown United FC to climax the first phase of the competition.

In other results over the weekend from Kakata, Solomon Kromah lone goal secured a narrow 1-0 home win for SLY FC against JABU FC at the same venue.

And from the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste KA-CITY forfeited points to SUSA FC in an away fixture while 10-men One Goal Footbal Academy settled to a two-all- draw with Weitown United FC in an away fixture.

League takes a break

The league now takes a temporary break. But it will continue during the week and climax over the weekend to climax the end of the first phase.

On 21 February at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata SLY FC and ONE Goal Footbal Academy clash at 4Pm, while at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste Doris FC and KA-CITY rub shoulder t the same time.

And on 24 February SUSA FC and FC Quincy battle at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste, Harbel while on 25 February Weitown United FC welcomes Africa Sports Academy at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste, Harbel to end the first phase of the competition.

FC Quincy sits on top of the league table with 13pts while KA-CITY sits at the bottom of the table with 4 points.

Weitown United FC player Blamo Weah is the league highest goal scorer with 8 goals.
