SPORTS: Destiny Girls Kickball Club Unbeaten Run Continues

It was a fruitful weekend for defending kickball champions Destiny Girls Club in continuation as the hunt for a back-to-back championship in the Liberia Kickball Federation-Margibi County Sub-Association.

This Kakata-based club continues the win spree as the defending champions moves on top of the league table for the first time in two months, since the start of the 2021-2022 league season.

The last time Destiny Girls kickball Club was on top of the league table was during the early stage of the league in the month of May after the club first 4 games.

On Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the 14th Road Sport Pitch, it was a scene of Liberia tradition sport kickball as hundreds of kickball lovers poured out to see such a beautiful kickball displayed by the players from the respective teams that saw speactators singing the team’s favorite song and also cheering the girls to victory.

As for the Kpatawee Girls of Bong County Destiny Sisters won two fixtures in a row.

The Kpatawee Girls of Bong County Destiny Sisters won the Weala outfit kickball club Future Girls on Friday, 22 July at the same venue in an outstanding game that saw Destiny Girls winning a comfortable 2 homes run to 0, while Zion Sisters forfeited points to Destiny Girls Kickball Club.

The League continues on Sunday, 24 July at the 14th Road Sports Pitch with eight clubs competing to climax the weekend Fixtures.

In game one the Kpatawee Girls of Bong County Destiny Sisters won a convincing 5 homes run  to 0 over the Weela based club, Future Girls, meaning the girls from Bong County Destiny Sisters Kickball Club. They won back-to-back fixture this season over Future Girls Kickball Club while in game two it was an interesting showpiece that saw Destiny Girls Kickball Club winning a 2 homes run over Angel Nets Foundation.

The defending champions Destiny Girls Kickball Club got the homes run in the 3rd  and 4th  innings of the game after a tense 1st and 2nd innings of the game that saw both teams playing without a single home run. But it was dued to the experience from the defending champions Destiny Girls Kickball Club that saw the team  clinching a 2-0 win over Angel Nets Foundation Kickball Club. That made the second win for Destiny Girls Kickball Club with the same score this season for the club over Angel Nets Foundation Kickball Club.

And still with much more anxiety from the spectators in game three, it was the fixture of the day that saw two nearest neighbors battling for supremacy involving YSSCI Kickball Club versus Ayounda Kickball Club. But both team played to a goalless draw while in the day final showpiece Vision Sisters Kickball Club suffered a huge defeat to the Dolo Town based club Zion Sisters Kickball Club.

Zion Sisters won a comfortable 5 homes run to 0 over Vision Sisters.

The win for Destiny Girls Kickball Club on Sunday,24 July moves the club on top of the league table with still an outstanding game.

The defending champions Destiny Girls Kickball Club sits on the league table with 29 points from 11 games played while Ayounda Kickball Club who was on top drops to 2nd place with 27 points from 12 games played.

Champions Destiny Girls Kickball Club is yet to taste a single defeat in the league and remains the only team yet to suffer a defeat in the league; while on the other hand, Vision Sisters Kickball Club is yet to get a win since the commencement of the league.

The Kakata-based Destiny Girls kickball club won the league and Knockout tournament during the 2020-2021 league season.

The club won the 2021-2022 Super Cup of the LKF-Margibi County Sub-Association, where the club won YSSCI Kickball Club  at the 14th Road Sports Pitch in Kakata.

The league will continue on 30th and 31st of July with more thrilling kickball actions.
