SPORTS: Friendly Encounter–Othello Baryogar And Kollie Jallah’s Goals Earn District # 4 First Win

KAKATA, Liberia- The main theater for football in Margibi County, the famous Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium came alive on Wednesday, 26 July in celebration of Liberia’s Independence Day, with Electoral District # 4 and Fred For Kids Academy playing in a friendly encounter.

The match between the two teams is prelude to what is to come in the upcoming tournament ahead.

Though a friendly, it was a tense and well entertaining first half, as both teams played to an entertaining football that saw spectators crying for goal but neither a team could get a goal in the net in the first half as both teams played to a scoreless halftime.

Back from recess with much enthusiasm into the game One Goal Academy versatile playmaker, Othello Baryogar registered his name on the scoresheet in the 55′ minute of the match from a stunning free kick from 35-yard to give District # 4 a l-0 lead over Fred For Kids Academy.

And with much time to end the match Kollie Jallah, alias ” Pizarro ” of One Goal Football Academy got on the scoresheet in the 78th minute after several opportunities wasted early on to give District  # 4 a convincing 2-0 win over Fred For Kids Academy.

The game marks the first friendly for the football team of District # 4 as the team started justification weeks ago at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.

The Margibi County Electoral District # 4 football team is using such fixture as preparation for the upcoming LFA- Margibi County District League, which is schedule for 28 July in Kakata while on the other hand the Montserrado County outfit club Fred For Kids Academy is preparing its team for the Central Monrovia Sub-Committee Third Division 2023-2024 League Season.

District # 4 opening fixture is an away match to District # 2 on Friday, 28 July in game two at 4PM with it second schedule for District # 3 on 30 July at the same time.

The boys of District # 4 will be in action on August 2 to marks the third fixture against District  # 1 and climax it game with District # 5 on 4 August.

This year’s edition of the Margibi County Electoral District League will be proudly sponsored by the Liberia Football Association.

It will mark the first time that such tournament will be under the auspices of the local football house, the LFA, Liberia Football Association.

Margibi County District # 3 won the previous two edition of the District League held in Margibi County under the supervision of Abu G. Fofana.
